Desaru Coast Teams Up with ONE°15 Marina for New Facilities

by Alisa

Desaru Coast has announced a strategic partnership with ONE°15 Marina, a subsidiary of Singapore’s SUTL Enterprise, to develop and operate new maritime facilities at the Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal. The collaboration was formalized during the Singapore Yachting Festival 2025, held at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove.

This partnership aims to enhance Desaru Coast’s position as a premier lifestyle destination on the southeastern coast of Johor, Malaysia. ONE°15 Marina Desaru Coast will manage both wet and dry berths, while also introducing a range of sailing events and luxury yacht charters to attract regional and international yacht owners and guests.

Karina Ridzuan, Director of Business Services at Destination Resorts and Hotels Sdn. Bhd., which owns Desaru Ferry Sdn. Bhd., commented, “This partnership reflects the strong bilateral ties between Singapore and Johor, especially with the upcoming Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone, and highlights investor confidence in Desaru Coast.”

Known for its beachfront resorts, world-class golf courses, and wellness retreats, Desaru Coast is now set to become a more prominent player in the regional yachting circuit. The new marina will provide improved access to the Malaysian coastline, along with enhanced infrastructure for private yacht charters, regattas, and marine leisure activities.

Arthur Tay, Executive Director and CEO of SUTL Enterprise, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, “I’m excited to welcome Desaru Coast into the growing ONE°15 network of marinas across Asia. Our goal is to create unique experiences that enrich the yachting community.”

The announcement, made at a press event at the Singapore Yachting Festival, also spotlighted the upcoming Ombak Festival 2025, set for September. The festival will provide guests an exclusive opportunity to experience the new marina, combining maritime exploration with music, arts, and cultural programming.

Ridzuan added, “We are thrilled to welcome the yachting community to experience the Ombak Festival with us this year as we continue to enhance our cultural and tourism offerings.”

In addition to boosting tourism and connectivity between Johor and Singapore, the collaboration aims to support long-term community investment, including maritime education initiatives and talent development.

“We are delighted to partner with ONE°15 Marina to bring premium marina facilities and curated sailing experiences to Desaru Coast,” concluded Ridzuan.
