Outer Reef Yachts has officially launched its first steel-hulled explorer yacht, the 23.95-metre Adventure 780, marking the company’s entry into the steel expedition yacht market. This launch represents a significant milestone for the builder as it expands its offerings in the rugged long-range yacht segment.
Constructed at Outer Reef’s Dutch shipyard, the Adventure 780 is the inaugural model in the newly created Adventure Series. This series was developed through a strategic merger with Lynx Yachts in 2024, combining expertise from both companies. The launch event was attended by the SuperYacht Times team, with Editor in Chief Francesca Webster having the honor of christening the vessel.
Designed to meet the needs of discerning owners, the Adventure 780 boasts long-range capabilities, robust steel construction, and a high level of onboard comfort. Built to CE Category A standards, the yacht features a fast-displacement steel hull with a beam of 6.75 metres and a draft of 1.9 metres, ensuring excellent stability and seaworthiness in challenging conditions. Powered by twin Cummins QSB 6.7 engines producing 425 horsepower each, the yacht reaches a top speed of 12.4 knots and cruises comfortably at 11.4 knots. Its impressive range extends to 3,000 nautical miles at a steady 7 knots, making it suitable for extended transoceanic voyages.
The yacht’s exterior design is credited to Bernd Weel Design, while the interiors were crafted by Julian Moore Design. Naval architecture was provided by Lynx Yachts. Owners can customize the interior layout to suit their preferences, with options for either four or five staterooms, complemented by two dedicated crew cabins. Storage solutions have been thoughtfully integrated to accommodate tenders and a variety of water toys.
Outdoor living spaces are tailored for both leisure and adventure. The expansive sun deck includes multiple seating zones, a bar, and an alfresco dining area. The protected aft cockpit offers a cozy environment for social gatherings. The Adventure 780 can carry a six-metre tender and up to two Jet Skis on the foredeck, with additional storage space allocated for other watercraft and equipment.
Following final outfitting at the Dutch shipyard, the yacht will be relocated to the South of France, where it will be showcased for prospective buyers.
