andBeyond has announced an exciting addition to its South American portfolio with the launch of the andBeyond Amazon Explorer, a river expedition yacht currently under construction at the SIMA Shipyard in Iquitos, Peru. The yacht is set to embark on its maiden voyage on September 29, 2026.
Operating from the port city of Iquitos, the andBeyond Amazon Explorer will navigate the Peruvian Amazon, including the town of Nauta and the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Guests will have the option to choose from three- and four-night itineraries, as well as a full seven-night journey.
The yacht will feature 12 luxury suites, including two superior suites and one deluxe suite, with a total capacity of 32 guests. Suite sizes will range from 355 to 860 square feet. Dining options will include an interactive cooking station for cooking demonstrations and classes. The design of the yacht, inspired by the Beach Club concept of ocean-going vessels, will also feature the River Retreat, a leisure area with a pool deck and lounge for relaxation while taking in the stunning surroundings. Additional amenities include a spa and gym.
Guests will also enjoy the Explorer Centre, where they can engage with informative talks by expert guides and learn more about the region. A pre-expeditionary area will provide a space for briefings before excursions into the Amazon.
The yacht will offer a variety of guided excursions led by experienced guides, focusing on the river, its tributaries, and nearby conservation areas. Activities will include explorations using skiffs or kayaks, guided walks to spot wildlife like sloths, piranha fishing, birdwatching, and night-time expeditions to search for caiman, frogs, snakes, and nocturnal birds.
In addition to its expeditions, andBeyond plans to support community-led conservation initiatives, including efforts to increase the population of native river turtle species. The company is also working to establish a scholarship program for local students and participate in initiatives aimed at improving educational opportunities for indigenous communities in the region.
