Turkish shipyard Mengi Yay has officially launched Serenissima II, the second yacht in its sub-500GT Serenissima series. The 47-meter motor yacht, designated project number NB 112, was unveiled at the shipyard’s new build facilities in Istanbul, Turkey. This launch follows closely behind the debut of Serenissima I (S1) in August 2024, which was subsequently showcased at the Monaco Yacht Show.
In line with her predecessor, Serenissima II boasts both exterior and interior designs by the renowned Italian firm Nuvolari Lenard, while Dutch studio Van Oossanen Naval Architects provided the naval architecture. The yacht is hailed by the yard as a product of international collaboration, blending “artisanal and technical excellence” from three nations.
Built with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, Serenissima II is designed for long-range cruising and Mediterranean living. Her spacious interior and expansive deck areas enhance comfort and luxury, making her an ideal vessel for leisure cruises. The yacht is capable of accommodating up to ten guests in five luxurious cabins, along with a crew of nine, thanks to her 499GT volume.
Notable features of the yacht include a main saloon with a balcony and wine cellar, as well as a sundeck, described by the yard as “one of the largest in this category.” The sundeck is equipped with a sunbathing area aft, a mini pool, and a sheltered lounge area, offering a perfect space for relaxation and enjoyment.
With an 8.85-meter beam, a 2.65-meter draft, and twin Caterpillar engines, Serenissima II is projected to reach a top speed of 16 knots.
Currently, six superyachts are under construction at Mengi Yay, including two units from the shipyard’s flagship Virtus XP model, both of which are expected to launch later this year.
