Videoworks has completed a groundbreaking audio-visual and connectivity installation aboard Telli, the new Custom Line Navetta 38 yacht owned by Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi. This state-of-the-art system replaces traditional satellite TV (TVRO) with a fully streaming-based solution, setting a technological benchmark for yachts of this size.
The installation features high-performance Starlink maritime antennas, offering speeds of up to 220 Mbps. This is supported by dual 5G modems as a backup, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity. “The owner requested ultra-fast Starlink connectivity for streaming, internet, and access to multiple pay-per-view services,” explained Giovanni Varone, Yachting Sales Manager at Videoworks. “This is the first time we’ve incorporated such advanced systems on a yacht of this scale.”
For audio, the yacht is equipped with K-array and James loudspeakers for exterior areas, while interior spaces feature Bang & Olufsen’s Beosound Theatre soundbar and Beolab 19 subwoofer. A custom pop-up speaker system was also developed for the beach area, seamlessly integrated with Videoworks’ Slim Audio Matrix for automatic calibration.
Control of the system is managed via an HTML5-based web engine, ensuring adaptability across tablets, smartphones, and PCs. All hardware is centralized into two racks, with a dedicated decoder distribution unit for streamlined operation.
“This yacht represents the future of onboard connectivity,” said Paolo Tagliapietra, Connectivity Solutions Manager at Videoworks. “The complete reliance on streaming is a game-changer for the industry.”
