Italian shipyard Tankoa Yachts has introduced its latest model, the 52-metre S520, at the prestigious Palm Beach International Boat Show. This new design marks a significant evolution of the shipyard’s popular S501 series, which recently saw its sixth unit, the 49.9-metre Rilassata, launched in 2024. Renowned designer Francesco Paszkowski has once again led the creative direction, retaining the signature “winning proportions” and sporty aesthetics of the S501, but in a more expansive, gun-metal grey package.
The S520’s increased length overall (LOA) has enabled significant enhancements to its outdoor spaces. The sundeck is both longer and wider, now featuring an infinity pool. The upper deck skylounge has also been enlarged, along with an extended flybridge, providing owners and guests with ample areas to enjoy the open air and panoramic views.
A standout feature of the design is the innovative stern configuration, which seamlessly connects the main deck, aft platform, and the split-level beach club. The beach club, designed to maximize light, includes sunbathing areas and is further illuminated by two opening side platforms and several portholes, including one overlooking the infinity pool.
Practicality is a key focus of the S520, with several new elements designed to enhance user experience. These include an integrated tender crane at the bow, a gangway built into the aft platform, and the relocation of the staircases to the port side. These changes expand the upper deck, transforming it into a dedicated entertainment area, while the forward section of the upper deck is now purely dedicated to toy storage.
The interior living spaces reflect a collaboration between Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini, who recently worked together on the 58-metre custom yacht Diamond Binta. The S520 features higher ceilings and larger windows, making the interiors feel brighter and more spacious than its predecessor, the S501. The design incorporates a modern, grey-toned colour palette that mirrors the exterior aesthetic, creating a harmonious flow between the interior and exterior spaces. Accommodation includes a luxurious owner’s suite with a private lounge, study, walk-in wardrobe, and vanity area.
Vincenzo Poerio, CEO of Tankoa Yachts, expressed his excitement about the S520’s unveiling, stating, “We are thrilled to showcase our latest model, the S520, created in collaboration with some of the best minds in the business. She embodies the essence of Tankoa, offering a larger, more refined design that anticipates the evolving needs of yacht owners through her perfect balance of aesthetics and functionality.”
In addition to the S520, Tankoa Yachts had a strong presence at the Palm Beach International Boat Show, where it celebrated the world premiere of the 45-metre Go and the US debut of Diamond Binta, following her appearance at the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show.
Tankoa Yachts is currently working on nine superyacht projects, with the largest being a 56-metre vessel commissioned by a “young American couple,” according to BOATPro.
