Canadian electric propulsion company Vision Marine Technologies is advancing its shift from outboard motors to fully electric boats. This month, the company unveiled two new electric pontoon boats: the 12-passenger V24 and the 15-passenger V30, both capable of reaching a range of up to 90 nautical miles.
With over 25 years of experience in the marine industry, Vision Marine Technologies has established itself as a leader in electric propulsion. The company made a significant breakthrough with its E-Motion turnkey powertrain system, which was featured in a catamaran speedboat that set a speed record of 109 mph in 2022.
Expanding its electric boat offerings, Vision Marine has now introduced six 180-horsepower vessels, including the Fantail 217 and Volt 180, each designed to carry up to 10 passengers. The latest addition to its lineup includes the V24 and V30 electric pontoons, which integrate the full power of the E-Motion electric powertrain.
Power and Range in a Sleek Package
Vision Marine is now accepting orders for its new pontoon boats, both of which feature the company’s signature E-Motion technology. The V24 is a 24′ 8″ electric pontoon boat that accommodates up to 12 passengers and comes with a 180-hp motor. The V24 is equipped with a 43 kWh marine battery, providing 40 nautical miles (46 miles) of all-electric range on a single charge. For those seeking more range, an option with a second battery pack, totaling 86 kWh, extends the range to 90 nautical miles (104 miles).
The V30, a larger, sportier model, provides space for 15 passengers and measures 30 feet in length. It shares the same E-Motion powertrain and battery configurations as the V24, offering similar range options. The V30 also features additional upgrades, including four 6.5” interior speakers and cool-touch seats, making it ideal for larger groups.
Both models come with an integrated onboard charger that supports a range of 120V-240V (30-50 amps), ensuring easy charging compatibility at most docks.
Pricing and Availability
The Vision V24 starts at $99,995 for the standard battery pack version, while the V30 begins at $139,995. Both models are available for order now, marking Vision Marine’s continued push toward sustainable and innovative electric boating solutions.
