Taiwanese offshore vessel operator Ventus Marine, a subsidiary of Singapore-based PSA Marine, has received delivery of the Ventus Daan, the first in a new series of high-performance catamaran crewboats built by Strategic Marine.
The 27-metre vessel is one of two ordered by Ventus Marine, with design input from naval architecture firm BMT. Built to endure challenging offshore conditions, the Ventus Daan features controllable-pitch propellers and bow thrusters for improved maneuverability, alongside an active fender system to enhance docking safety.
Designed with functionality in mind, the vessel offers a spacious forward open deck for cargo transport, equipped with a knuckle boom crane. The elevated wheelhouse includes forward-leaning windscreens, reducing glare and improving visibility for operators.
This delivery marks the first of four crewboats ordered by PSA Marine for deployment by its subsidiaries in Taiwan and Europe, supporting the growing offshore wind energy sector in both regions. The remaining three vessels are expected to be delivered later this year.
