Team Abu Dhabi, backed by Riva Classiche branding and driven by ten-time Formula 1 Powerboat champion Guido Cappellini, has shattered the Pavia-Venice 2025 International Powerboat Raid record. The team completed the challenging 400 km inland waterway course in 1 hour, 41 minutes, and 45 seconds, averaging an impressive speed of 207.26 km/h.
This achievement surpasses the previous record set in 2005 by Dino Zantelli, who finished the course in 1 hour, 44 minutes, and 45 seconds at an average speed of 203.34 km/h. The new record also eclipses historic benchmarks, such as Serafino Riva’s 1931 outboard category record of 51.660 km/h.
The partnership between Riva and Cappellini began in 2005 when the champion established an unbeaten world water speed record on Lake Iseo near Riva’s Sarnico shipyard. This latest milestone further cements their legacy of technical excellence and performance in the world of powerboating.
The achievement also highlights the prowess of the Ferretti Group, led by CEO Alberto Galassi, a global leader in luxury yacht construction and sales. Their distinguished portfolio includes prestigious brands such as Ferretti Yachts, Riva, Pershing, Itama, Mochi Craft, CRN, Custom Line, and Wally.
