VENICE, Italy — Italian yacht builder Pershing, renowned for its high-speed, high-performance vessels, has taken a bold step into the world of more livable luxury yachts. The company unveiled its latest model, the GTX70, at the 2025 Venice Boat Show—marking a major milestone in both its product line and its 40th anniversary celebrations.
A New Direction for Pershing
For years, Pershing has been the go-to name for speed-focused yacht buyers. Backed by the Ferretti Group and known for its commitment to cutting-edge research and construction, the brand has long led the industry in performance boats.
Now, Pershing is expanding its vision. The GTX Sport Utility series, which includes the new GTX70, represents a shift toward comfort, space, and longer voyages. These yachts are designed not just for quick spins around party hotspots like Ibiza, but for slower, more luxurious weekends spent exploring the quieter Balearic islands.
GTX70: Compact but Complete
The GTX70 is the third and most compact model in the GTX range. Measuring 71.5 feet (21.8 meters) in length with a beam of 5.42 meters, this yacht is more than a scaled-down version of its larger siblings. It was developed through a collaboration between Pershing, the Ferretti Group’s Product Strategy Committee (led by Piero Ferrari), Vallicelli Design, and the Group’s Engineering Department.
The result is a sleek, powerful yacht that blends modern technology with traditional craftsmanship. The new hull and construction method give it a sharp, aggressive look—highlighted by clean lines, a slightly curved sheer, and a near-vertical bow.
One standout feature is the beach club’s unfolding bulwarks, which open to create a 23-square-meter waterfront lounge. A lifting swim platform extends the usable area and allows for launching a Jet Ski or the recommended Williams 325 tender.
Spacious Interiors and Smart Layout
Despite its size, the GTX70 offers impressive volume and a smart layout. Its widebody design allows for a more spacious interior. On the main deck, an open-plan layout links the cockpit lounge, galley, and forward salon. A retractable glass panel connects the indoor and outdoor spaces smoothly.
Interior finishes include Nubuck leather and sporty LED light bars that reflect Pershing’s signature style. While visitors to the Venice Boat Show got a preview of the interiors, the rest of the public will need to wait for the official photo release.
Below deck, the yacht has three en suite cabins that can accommodate up to six guests. The design maximizes privacy and comfort. On top, a 16-square-meter sportbridge offers areas for sunbathing, alfresco dining, and yacht command. An electric Bimini top is available as an optional upgrade.
Performance Remains a Priority
True to Pershing’s heritage, the GTX70 does not compromise on performance. It is powered by three 900-horsepower Volvo Penta D13 IPS1200 engines, enabling the yacht to reach a top speed of 35 knots. It cruises comfortably at 30 knots.
At the Venice Boat Show, organizers arranged special sea trials around the Venice Lido. These allowed potential buyers to experience the yacht’s speed and maneuverability firsthand.
Celebrating 40 Years of Innovation
The unveiling of the GTX70 at Venice was perfectly timed to celebrate Pershing’s 40th year in yacht building. With its elegant design, enhanced liveability, and strong performance, the GTX70 shows how the brand is evolving without losing its core identity.
This new model also signals the direction for Pershing’s future. The GTX70 proves that performance yachts can still offer space, comfort, and versatility—even at under 22 meters.
