Emerald Cruises, a leading small-ship cruise line known for its luxurious yachts, has announced an ambitious expansion plan that will see the launch of three new vessels in the coming years. The company, which currently operates the popular Emerald Azzurra and Emerald Sakara, will introduce two more ocean-going yachts and a sleek river ship, further solidifying its presence in the luxury cruising market.
Two new ocean-going yachts are set to join Emerald Cruises’ fleet by 2027, alongside the upcoming launch of the Emerald Kaia in 2026. This expansion aims to meet the growing demand for intimate, high-end cruising experiences.
Emerald’s new ships will accommodate 128 guests in a variety of suites, offering ample open-air spaces and a relaxed yet polished service style. One of the standout features of these new yachts will be a water sports platform, equipped with seabobs, kayaks, and other water toys, designed for use in warm-water destinations that are a hallmark of Emerald’s offerings.
“Our guests have been asking for more — more destinations, more seasons, and more ways to explore,” said Ken Muskat, president of Scenic Group USA and LATAM. “This expansion is our response to that demand. We’re seeing tremendous interest in design-forward yachts that combine the newest technology with the exclusivity of a private escape and the luxury of a resort.”
The new yachts will sail across popular destinations, including the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, and the Seychelles. Full itineraries and booking details will be released in June.
In addition to the new yachts, Emerald Cruises will also introduce a river ship, the Emerald Lumi, which will mark the company’s debut on the Seine River in northern France. Scheduled to begin operations in 2027, the Lumi will offer round trips from Paris, visiting Honfleur, Rouen, and other Normandy destinations. This new vessel will bring the total number of Emerald’s river ships in Europe to 11.
