Silent Yachts, the Italian builder known for its environmentally-friendly, solar-powered cruising catamarans, is on track to unveil its flagship model, the SY80. The highly anticipated vessel is nearing completion, following a strong start to the year marked by the successful launch of multiple units from the company’s shipyard in Fano.
The SY80, measuring 24 meters in length, builds on the sustainable innovations of its predecessors, including the SY62 3-Deck Open and 3-Deck Closed versions. However, it offers a larger scale and enhanced luxury. With the capacity to accommodate up to 12 guests, the SY80 combines stylish comfort with cutting-edge design, all while maintaining Silent Yachts’ trademark commitment to eco-friendly cruising. The yacht boasts a spacious layout, luxurious staterooms, and ample storage for water toys, all crafted with “Made-in-Italy” precision.
Fabrizio Iarrera, CEO of Silent Yachts, expressed excitement over the new model’s debut, emphasizing its versatility. “What sets the SY80 apart from other models is its customizability. Owners can personalize every deck, tailoring each space to their functional needs and style preferences. This flexibility allows us to transform the yacht of your dreams into reality,” Iarrera stated.
The SY80 offers three distinct layout options—2-Deck, 3-Deck Open, and 3-Deck Closed—similar to the SY62 series. All configurations allow for a spacious on-deck master suite or an open-plan salon, with the master cabin positioned on the lower deck.
Performance-wise, the SY80 is a beacon of innovation, merging eco-friendly technology with comfort. The catamaran features an award-winning solar-powered system, capable of silent, nearly zero-emission cruising. With a top speed of 12 knots and a comfortable cruising speed of 7-8 knots, the yacht is equipped with a substantial battery capacity of 522 kWh/696 kWh and a peak solar array of 22.4 kWp.
The SY80 will make its official debut at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival, set for September 9-14, 2025. In the meantime, the 2-Deck version is expected to touch the water in the coming weeks, marking a new chapter for Silent Yachts’ growing fleet of solar-powered vessels.
